Well folks, here we go again. This time we are figuring out what check sheets are for. No, they are not for sleeping purposes. Check sheets come in many forms, but for IT specialists they pretty much pertain to a user’s computer.
Now this means the hardware –the actual physical parts that make up the machine; and the software that makes the parts actually work.
The check sheets that I have provided here actually come from our text A Guide to Computer User Support for Help Desk & Support Specialists by Beisse, Fred. My renditions of these forms seem to be lacking content, so I just used the ones in the book and now I have all the items I will need to perform my job proficiently. As I have stated before we will learn from experience as we go along.
Having a check sheet at the help desk will provide guidance for the support specialist, ensuring that all aspects of the task are covered. It can be both unprofessional and embarrassing to stumble and stammer while talking to a client. Face it, we really do want to keep our clients.
